Abecedarians - Eureka Vinyl LP 1986 Southwest Audio Reproductions - US. This is 2nd edition unnumbered pressing from 1986. The first run has a white cover which is silk screened plus each copy is number stamped individually only 500 pressed on the first run. About 10 years ago I found an excellent copy at Amoeba for $5.00 and convinced we already owned it I sold it off. When the time and chance came a few years later I would be called upon by an old friend to help repress the original. The wheels were put forth in motion and I got in touch with Chris Manecke through my good friend Adam Elesh who was in the 80’s Los Angeles band Drowning Pool. I gathered up everything Xavier and I owned by the Abecedarians and low and behold that “extra copy” of the black cover edition of Eureka was nowhere to be found. I was pretty bummed as I was sure we had it and would’ve never sold the Amoeba copy if this were the case so I put it back on my discogs “watch list”. Last week a seller posted a copy for $15 with free shipping but warned on the cover grading to having heavy ringwear. LP arrived yesterday and the ringwear was heavier than expected but what was important was the vinyl which is pretty good shape. This is why every single picture sleeve record Xavier and buy gets an automatic protective sleeve. This officially completes our official Abecedarians CD/vinyl/cassette collection. Chris will trip when he sees this as he doesn’t even own a copy for himself anymore. Took patience but it finally paid off.
